Is it just me or was Star Wars never a all ages property?

Limb dismemberment

Boring political scenes

Scary shyt like carbonate freezing

Jumping inside of dead animal carcasses to stay alive

As a kid The Empire Strikes Back was scary as shyt

The new films don’t feel dark or have those western moments at all

Back then appealing to all ages was different than now.

Robocop was marketed towards children with toys and shyt, but that film was rated r with blood and gore.
Conan had naked woman in it and yet they were making comicbooks and toys and shyt for that movie too.
The original Ghostbusters is rated PG but still has to censored and edited for TV during certain parts.

The toys came after they saw how popular Robocop was with kids. That is why the third movie was pg13
