Is it just me or do finishing move names suck now.

Watching Raw tonight made me realize Most of em are horrible.

Trouble In Paradise :what:

Shell Shock :comeon:

Go To Sleep :aicmon:

The Yes/No Lock.. :upsetfavre:

And of course, the worst.. Attitude Adjustment :snoop:

None of them have that catchyness to them that the classics did..

GOAT finisher name = The Razor's Edge

Some other ones that sound fly: Sharpshooter, Jackhammer, Evenflow DDT :wow:, Diamond Cutter, etc.

Nothing wrong with any of those :yeshrug:

Big Show's punch being called the WMD is awful though.

Is Titus' finisher still called Clash of the Titus? That's a cool name.

It's actually pretty awful when you're comparing it to things that sounded awesome when screamed repeatedly by J.R.

:yikesvince: STONE COLD STUNNER! ANOTHER STONE COLD STUNNER!

:yikesvince: ROCK BOTTOM! PEOPLE'S ELBOW!

:yikesvince: WHERE DID IT COME FROM?! SWEET CHIN MUSIC!!

:yikesvince: PEDIGREE! MY GOD, ANOTHER PEDIGREE!

:yikesvince: CLOTHESLINE FROM HELL!

:yikesvince: THE MANDIBLE CLAW! SHARPSHOOTER! SHARPSHOOTER! CRIPPLER CROSSFACE!

One thing that I dislike is how so many things are shortened/abbreviated:

GTS. AA/FU. WMD. F-5. :smh:

Then other moves are just corny. I like Ziggler, but the ZigZag? :whoa: Corny. Preferred when Daniel Bryan just called it the Lebell Lock. Had a nice ring to it.

Seems like the moves are named after songs or television shows instead of maneuvers or eventful happenings. "Wasteland", "CrossRhodes"..:scusthov:

Hopefully The Shield keeps their finisher names. They aren't too bad. Midnight Special...Moment of Silence...Avada Kedavra (this one could use some fine-tuning)

F5 isn't an abbreviation:

F5 tornado, an intensity rating on the Fujita scale indicating an extremely violent tornado.

Incredible damage. Strong frame houses lifted off foundations and carried considerable distances to disintegrate; automobile sized missiles fly through the air in excess of 100 m (109 yd); trees debarked; steel reinforced concrete structures badly damaged.

Yeah. I was kind of hesitating to throw the F-5 in there because it's one of the few that just is what it is...like the RKO. I was more so referring to how a lot of popular move names are shortened and verbalized as acronyms instead of full-out epic maneuvers with clever names.

A lot of them are either painfully shortened and generic: AA, FU, GTS, 619, RKO, WMD

...or long & corny: Trouble In Paradise, Skull-Crushing Finale, Gotch-Style Neutralizer, Clash of the Titus...

...as opposed to TNA: Styles Clash, Last Call Superkick, Angle Slam, MuscleBuster, Swanton Bomb/Twist of Fate...

I'm guessing the corny names are based solely on marketing. Its easier to come up with a t-shirt for the "Yes" Lock than the "LeBelle" lock?

:manny:
Where the marketing majors at? btw you have to add the Souvenir to this list... who comes up with this stuff..:bryan:
