Is intelligence purely genetic or does it have to do with schooling/upbringing etc?

Intelligence in my opinion comes down to surroundings/upbringing pure and simple.

I have seen most kids do so much better in school after their parents moved out the hood.

I'm an example.

it depends on what type of intelligence we're talking about. people are smart or dumb in different thinking areas if their brain is working properly.

They see me trolling, they hating.....
So its possible for a teenager who is so dumb that he doesn't even know what 2+2 is to become a Harvard graduate if the right time and effort is put forth?

I dunno bros, everything else about our physical appearance and personality resides in our genes. You could map out a persons complete genome and narrow down exactly how they would most likely die and what diseases they are susceptible to all from DNA/genes. I have a hard time accepting the fact that intelligence is solely nurture.

Bush wasn't dumb

he was just bout that YOLO and didn't give a sh1t about square sh1t like grades

or running a country

if he wanted to he could have gotten straight As tho, but why do that when ur dad is the president and u can get away with it?

i don't look at intelligence as a general thing and view it more as something that can vary based on environment, region, circumstance, etc. at that point, intelligence to me is more the ability and capacity to adapt to the world around you to fulfill whatever needs that are there (my intelligence in brooklyn, ny would serve me little purpose of let's say, the bushes of some area in africa and vice versa). that said, all of those factors would play a part - having the capacity to learn the necessary things, the ability to apply it and the right individuals around to help you cultivate it will ultimately translate to your intelligence.
