is Heat as revered as it should be? when people bring it up they usually just talk about the heist shoot out scene (which is one of the greatest in film history) but imo it's one of the overall best films of the 90's

pacino & de niro at the top of their fukking game mayne (especially pacino). 90's pacino performances weren't as subtle & restrained as 70's pacino, and he chewed the scenery like nobody else, but mayne if they aren't some of my favorite acting performances ever :russ: (glengarry glen ross, carlito's way, scent of a woman, devil's advocate and of course heat) all piff:banderas:

Nope, properly rated at best, some would probably say it's slightly overrated at worst.

It gave us this though, so there's that. :mjlol:

She got a GREAT ASS. And you got your head all the WAY UP IT. :damn: When I think of asses... woman's ass... something comes outta me. :dead:

Pacino yelling at Ralph and taking his TV after struggling to disconnect it. Then driving around with it in the front seat and kicking it out the car :russ:

De Niro scaling the hillside to pop Van Zant. :blessed:

De Niro did Heat and Casino in the same year. Casino is my favorite Scorsese flick.

Heat is a little like Die Hard with the imitators: Set it Off, The Town, Den of Thieves. It's influential in that way. Still don't like the ending though. :yeshrug:

i would say it WAS underrated but as it's aged it stood the test of time because of the practical action sequences and great acting performances.

There's really not a film since that has captured gun fire the same way. it influenced everything from lower budget action films to the Nolan Batmans and The Winter Soldier..

Absolutely love Casino. Could easily watch it once a month and not get tired of it.

Underrated? It's arguably Manns best film, that or collateral. Not mine tho, Manhunter is my favorite Michael Mann film

Love Manhunter. That's underrated. Logan Roy played a better "Dr. Lecktor" than Anthony Hopkins. Told my friend to watch it cuz he's a big Silence of the Lambs fan and he agreed with me.
