is Farscape a classic Sci fi show?

I was flipping through channels and stumbled upon Farscape. Why isn't it mentioned amongst the great sci fi shows like star trek, deep space nine, Babylon 5, and the likes? When it come to great characters that show is second fiddle to none?

Farscape is insanely good but it got a bad rep by people who never watched it and thought is was "Muppets in Space" or something.
