One thing I've noticed about these situations is that everyone always wants to jump to the apology and provide "closure" for everyone involved. These talk shows bring these people on and be like, "Ok here's Maria, she lied and sent Tony to prison for 10 years, Tony you have something to say? .... "
But I never hear anything about
accountability. In this case, the woman lied, lets hold off on that apology for now, and lets talk about
accountability. Now that it has come out that you lied, how can the system hold this woman
accountable for her actions? How can the system that determined this man was guilty be held
accountable for their actions?
Once I have these answers and people are held
accountable, then and only then can we speak about an apology.
