Is any movie going to surpass Avatar 2 in regards to visual effects any time soon?

Avatar 2 came out almost a year ago and all the movies released after that the visual effects seem minuscule compared that movie.

The movie had ton of flaws, but damn the visual effects are god tier.

not a chance. the price would have to come down on the production side. also cameron did not do those effects in house. you really need his direction to make it all possible and guarantee some sort of return on investment. in his own words:

“Obviously, I’m not going to be able to make ‘Avatar’ movies indefinitely, the amount of energy required […] I would have to train somebody how to do this because, I don’t care how smart you are as a director, you don’t know how to do this.”

I enjoyed effects in The Creator more. Probably less technologically advanced but "worked" better for me. Didn't feel as if the whole movie was to show them off, as opposed to Avatar.

Not much to talk about tbh. "Great special effects" is basically the whole conversation, and Cameron stans trying to convince everyone he's the best director ever.
