Most people, who are not hardcore comic fans, wouldn't know who you are talking about.
He was created by Kevin Grevioux who also create Underworld.
He;s supposed to be stronger then superman.
He was abandoned by Marvel. Same fate like Gravity and other one-shots.

He is part of the black panther led avengers now but he had a serious grade.
When he first came out he was one punching hulk, beat Thor and Hercules together and Matched sentry.

A hero is only as strong as his villains and obstacles. It's not the fact that he's physically strong, but what is his motivations, why is he strong, what obstacles and internal struggles does he face? What about his villains? Are they are just as interesting as the hero? That's what would make a strong hero interesting.
I can already see the backlash because Blue Marvel's whole backstory is rooted in his interracial relationship.
what about Icon the black super man
Ehhh I think it would require to much star power because you would have to have static shock and rocket in his movie plus they would want to market it as in the D.C. Universe instead of the miles universe so there would have to be a mainstream justice leaguer or two ( cyborg and superman most likely)
