Not a chance. These idiots can't handle when the a power line goes down, let alone a cyber attack. And didn't Netflix and Instagram shut down for a day because of a power outage a couple days ago? America doesn't prepare... we think we are invincible.

You mad as hell about your power going down :heh:. Was that your spot only or like the whole block or something?

I remember in summer 03 when power went out for the east and midwest during the hot ass summer :ohlawd:. They said they were going to upgrade those lines after a huge incident like that but didn't do shyt. We have old Critical Infrastructure that we don't invest in, country over. We aren't ready for shyt. China particualry as been stealing shyt from the government and corporations via cyber-fare for years and I remember reading a report saying we were behind on the cyber security front from Richard Clark and a few others.

Does it really matter at the end of the day..... What is China or those other countries going to do invade America. Not gonna happen. America infrastructure is old but I don't see a country wide epidemic of choas blackouts etc....

Teddy Roselvelt once said any that happens in America best believe it was planned by America and it happen for a reason.

Damn right I'm angry. I had just done groceries... All my food could have spoiled. 190,000 people lost power yesterday. The worst part is this happens a couple times every summer and it's always the same slow ish.

You would think they'd develop a new emergency plan.

On top of that I take online classes, so if I have work due or a test I have to drive around and find some internets... (Wanna do my Microecon homework? I'll give you 300 coli cash.=))

Back to the topic, it seems that a job in IT(security) would be a solid career path. Hmmmmm....

Sounds like you may need to get a cheap generator to put up if its every year. IT - security path is a good field if you're serious about it.

I haven't taught/been exposed to the academic econ in two years, but you can send the questions and I'll see if I can help.

You ask if America is ready for Cyberwar and in the first line you mention Stuxnet, which is partly a U.S. creation.

You pretty much answered your own question.
