Is Akira the greatest animated film of all time?

Akira is an animated masterpiece. Released in 1988, and based on the manga of the same name, Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira has become the measuring stick all other anime are measured against. Easily one of the most visually stunning animated films ever, Akira is a must watch.

The manga is crazy. Once you read it you understand the movie more. It was too much to cram it all in.

It's not but I remain at how it looks even to this day so I voted "visually, yes".

The story is a fukking mess as it basically tries to squeeze a whole lot of manga in just 120 minutes
