Is a 3D tv worth getting at this point?

I know they aren't really making them anymore, but I've gotten a few movies in box sets and as gifts that include a 3D copy, and they always look cool to me when I used to watch them at my friends house. Anyone here got a 3D tv? If so, is it worth the cash to see movies like that at home? Do they have problems? Do they last long? I saw a Jurassic park box set that has a few in 3D the other day and those looked really great like that in theaters.

Those go for what, $1500 roughly?
nah, man. i got a 55 inch, 4k tv for 900. i could have paid the extra ~200 for 3d but i didn't want it at the time.

then i saw a few movies in 3d and realized a lot of those movies with shytty cgi looks tons better in 3d.

:ehh: I'll be sure to save some cash up then. Currently have the wolverine and on stranger tides in 3D. If terminator 2 is available like that :wow:.

Up next for me is the Jurassic park films. What it does for those films is fantastic. Wish that my pirates box set had dead man's chest in 3D. Does days of future past have the rogue cut in 3D? I always enjoy the directors cut more. Damn shame inception and 300 aren't available in 3D.

3d was so 3 years ago and it was a con, I got an LG 42inch 3d tv and the 3d function is just double vision. 3d blu rays play like normal blu rays its just a figment of my imagination that I think it's 3d

Most higher end 4K TVs have 3D built in. My Samsung SUHD does. I've never used the 3D feature though. It seems like a fad that never caught on. :yeshrug:

Could be wrong but I assume not enough tv shows added it and maybe it was too expensive? Didn't have enough times to use it I would guess.
