HTC, LG, Sony, ASUS etc have all made dope Android phones and the nexus program is encouraging competition.
As a person who doesn't get locked into contract or hold on to phones for too long buying a cheaper phone more often makes more sense given phone technology advances rapidly... finally it just makes sense to have more choice you can't argue against that. May as well say Honda vehicles are less reliable than Audi because they're slower.
If the internal components cause the car to get slower over time then yes that falls under reliability
