Iphone 10 Water Damage

Working out in the park and a full rain storm happened, my phone was in my pocket and got soaked. Now my phone get's notifications and I hear sounds but the screen is black. I've had it in rice for like 3 hours now, I'll leave it overnight but if that dosen't work does anyone have any other advice before I take it to T mobile because the Apple store is closed

You don't put a phone in rice because you'll completely dry it out and/or expose it to starch and dust.
