Can't really help on that one Tek, I've never used Cool Edit.
I've used a ton of ios apps though and this is the one I always go back too. Every track on my soundcloud has been done on it.
Easy to load all your custom sounds in and sample chopping's a breeze. I'd give it a go especially at the current price.

I make about 90% of my beats on beatmaker 2. it is awesome. I import all my sounds using dropbox (which is built into the software). very powerful app for ios.

Totally agree, aside from the fact I mix tracks in different software, BM2 covers everything else for me.
