Cast:

Plot:
Set in an alternate world of various Grimm fairy tales, the film intertwines the plots of several Brothers Grimm fairy tales and follows them to explore the consequences of the characters' wishes and quests. The main characters are taken from "Little Red Riding Hood", "Jack and the Beanstalk", "Rapunzel", and "Cinderella", as well as several others. When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed childless by a Witch, they must embark into the woods to find the objects required to break the spell and begin a family. The film is tied together to the original story of the baker and his wife, their interaction with the Witch who has placed a curse on them, and their interaction with other storybook characters during their journey. What begins as a lively irreverent fantasy musical eventually becomes a meaningful tale about responsibility, the problems that come from wishes, and the legacy that we leave our children

Meryl Streep does not have a strong singing voice so I don't get why she was cast as The Witch.

The lack of replies in this thread & interest in this movie on this forum has me :ohhh:.
Its a Broadway musical adaptation so I am not shocked. I am sure a lot of dudes here have no idea what the hell Into The Woods is at all.

Breh, why are you surprised by this? Its a forum full of grown ass men and this flick looks like some CGI fairy tale muscial bullshyt...are you really surprised?:martinwtf:

Yeah, but it's from Disney AND it features a bunch A-list actors. I admit I'd probably wouldn't care as much if this was from another studio. But I other folks have enjoyed Disney's Live-action remakes, so I'd thought that mean something.

My (mostly white) middle school did this play. That's probably the only reason I know about it. The original is on netflix tho sans A-List actors.

This movie pales in comparison to the play. It's not a great adaptation at all. They cute some of the best songs, IMO. Hardcore fans of the play, overall, are really singing its praises, but I think some things should stay on the stage. Meryl Streep did very well, stole the show, whenever she was on screen, but other than that, I thought the whole thing came across as awkward as hell. Even the corny-on-purpose- moments fell like a bad knock-knock joke. I guess I didn't like it. If you have check the story out, please wait until you can see the play.

1.5 out of 5 stars, the extra .5 is for Meryl's performance.:smugfavre:

She actually can blow. I was surprised.
