I'm pretty sure they've always done this, but It seems like they are doing this in more volume now.


I was locked out of an account I tried to make on facebook because I refused to give them my phone number. On google I cannot get into one of my anon junk mail accounts I use for EVERYTHING. They want me to give up a credit card number for that. I dunno why but I expected better from google, but yanno they have facial recognition and all that shyt in their search engines.

I feel like some of these web companies have gotten a bit almighty about their power. It annoys the fukk out of me, and I don't like giving out my information to random websites.

Same here, I had a FB account wich was with a pseudonyme (I'll never use my real name) that I used kinda frequently last year. But I moved at some time and because of that change of IP, FB taught I was being hacked despite me saying the contrary and explaining it !

To regain my account, I had to give them TWO ID proofs WITH photos. My account didn't have any photos in it and I was never tagged whatsoever, so I argued that that was unnecessary because there couldn't be any comparition, but those human robots there weren't having that and never let me retake it.
Therefore, I created another Junk FB account

But I hated that because FB (and Google and them) know there are in an hegemonic position and nobody can't tell them shyt. In a sense it's their right, they are private companies supplying a product but they use that domination to enforce abusive conditions you gotta agree with to use said product. I don't really care because I use my FB once a week at most but this very principle angers me.

Another stuff about Google (or other companies) is that in order to use youtube, you gotta connect with a gmail account. Of course I created a junk account I never connect with but I always hated having to use a third service to use the one I wanted... Like when you gotta install Games for Windows, Steam or Origin in order to play some games...

Also people should use twitter cautiously, especially in France...

A French court ruled Thursday that Twitter must help identify the authors of racist tweets posted on its site. The ruling follows a complaint brought by an activist group in October that argued such tweets breach laws against inciting racial hatred.

We should all care about privacy on the internet and the protection of our rights, but if you are using the internet you WILL be traced if they want you to be traced. Dummy accounts and proxies can only go so far. Unless you are in the top of your hacking game, everything about you can be learned.

I made a post on SOHH a long time ago about wiping yourself of the internet, and I got a lot of PMs from people telling me they were surprised how much shyt on them was out there.

If there is demand, I can do it again.
