My thoughts. 1st let me tell you my taste. Post Toy 3. Cars 2:beli: Brave. Good but not great. Def. did not deserve an Oscar. Monsters U:snooze:.

Bottom line the best Pixar movie since Toy 3. And I'll even go as far as calling a classic. This a risky film because you're making a kid film. With a complex subject matter such as the brain, emotions, etc. They do a good job balancing being inside of her brain. As well as seeing what's going on in the real world.

The star of this movie is the personification (sp?) of Sad. Played by Phyllis Smith. Is she the actually star? No, but the acting (I know it's animated so technically it's not acting) she does is Oscar eque. Like when I was watching this I was like "dang, if it was possible for a voice actress to win an award it would be over). Like she outacts everybody in this film. Even the "Joy" character who was technically the leader of the emotions.

There was def. sad parts like most of these Pixar movies. Nothing made me cry but there was one scene that had me like "Dang, that's messed up". Once you see the film you'll know exactly the scene I'm referring to. But bottom line, the subject is like a college course. Mixed with a kids film. Obviously, kids won't get the concept but they can still enjoy the story. A good mix for adult and kids.

I want to see this but then again I don't want to pay full price for it since its a PG rated kids movie and I don't have kids. But the glowing reviews are getting me excited.. I may wait till it leaks or hits cable

This was an interesting concept. A bit too abstract and heady for kids, imo. I wouldn't call it fun, but there were cute and funny parts. As a former psych major though, it felt like some sort of mind fukk game, and I'm not sure all the concepts they tried to convey worked.

I really enjoyed the 'Lava' film short that played before the movie.

5 out of 10.
10/10 for Lava

That short film freaked me out. I thought it was apart of the film at first

I enjoyed the movie, but I could tell my godson was bored, i definitely think the nuance of emotions, core memories forming your personality, long term memory, fading imaginations (:rip: to my imaginary bff's Jessica and Kenny) went over the heads of kids. I almost wish they would've made this and pg-13 adult targeted film, it could've conveyed much more. That commercial had me :dead: also, we all have those random commercials or tv moments that pop in our head time to time for no reason, pure fukkery lol.

That short was by far pixar's worst and the corninest, very cringeworthy. Who was that for?

I am also starting to hate movies due to the 40 minutes of combined commercials, silence your phone/go get drinks/food reminders, and previews that precede the movie. This is ok when you're seeing a film you can be late for, but you're an involuntary captive audience when seeing a popular movie where you need to be there on time.
