The Force Awakens made most of its money the week before Christmas, then benefited from the Christmas and new years holidays while also caking up in January.

note, WB/DC KNEW THIS, and release Justice League a week before Thanksgiving. But by the time they got to that mid December sweet spot, it had been pulled from 1,349 theaters (the same weekend the last jedi was released).
It will be a major accomplishment if IW passes $2 Billion worldwide at this point.
