
Inés became interested in Citizens in 2010 and the following year she became the party's youth spokesperson.[4]
Arrimadas was elected a member of the Parliament of Catalonia in the 2012 Catalan regional election. She became the Leader of Citizens in Catalonia and Leader of the Opposition in the Catalan Parliament in 2015 at the age of 34.
She led the party into the 2015 Catalan regional election. It won 17.9% of the vote and went from 9 to 25 seats, becoming the largest unionist party in the Parliament.
The party under Arrimadas secured the most seats in the 2017 election, however pro-independence parties retained a narrow majority of seats in the Parliament of Catalonia.[7][8]
