IOC bans Indian Olympic Association, elections void | Sport | The Guardian
Allegedly, there was major tampering with the elections of the Indian Olympic Association that led to a guy who got charged with fraud a couple of years ago to be confirmed as Secretary-General of the association. As a result, the IOC banned all Indian officials from the games.
This does NOT affect Indian athletes competing in the Olympics, however, they won't be able to do so under the Indian flag.

massive decision to make and i suspect if the indians comply the ban will be over ruled. fair play to the IOC for this. i wish other sporting bodies would take a leaf out of their book.
