The cosmic horror is nothing short flawless. Carpenter came with his A game on this one. And it still holds up today. The practical effects were up there with The Thing and the story itself was a master class of Lovecraftian horror.
He sees you!Carpenter’s Apocalypse trilogy is so good and personally it’s kinda hard for me to pick my favorite at times. Each one does its own thing perfectly. Noticed that Sam Neill has a real knack for cosmic horror….the guy is made for these kind of films. I think his best performance was in Possession, but he absolutely killed it here as well.
Do you read Sutter Kane?
