In the 1940’s, what did Conservatives say about Nazis?

Is there any info on what the American Conservative party said about the German nazi party in the 1940’s?

I’ve done zero research but I’m struggling to think of what they would DISAGREE with the nazis on.

Also we’re the conservatives at the time part of the reason a ton of nazi’s were brought over to work at government facilities like NASA?

Manifest Destiny similarities, also taking towns, businesses and land from “lessers” for the dominators to use. It’s partly why they wanted Poland and Russia and the rest of europe

Pretty shady to connect that with Nazis though, Nazism didn't become a mainstream ideology in Germany until well after those families had left. In fact our generals leading the Europe war effort (Eisenhower), the Europe air campaign (Spaatz), the Pacific fleet (Nimitz), and the Manhattan Project (Oppenheimer) were all German-Americans.
