Over Carmelo, Wade & Bosh...hell, even Perkins, Pietrus & Kaman would've been a better look in hindsight. Damn, that nikka amounted to nothing :wow:

Anyone remember the lil segment ESPN did on Darko saying he might be more NBA ready than Lebron due to the fact he had been playing against tougher comp overseas? I wonder if they burnt that tape.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Supposedly he was a workout warrior and destroyed empty gyms, draining jumpers left and right, showing post moves, agility and great footwork for someone 7"0+. They got suckered into it really, international scouting is much better because of Darko.

He shows flashes every once in a while, he's got talent, but he just doesn't care or know how to put it to use.

Stacked team already (relativley speaking), had that pick fall into their lap from a trade....but yeah they could have used it on a better player as a project for the future.

Still, I think some of the other star players from that draft would have had trouble getting in Larry Brown's rotation and been frustrated with playing time the first few years.

They thought he was the future lol just like MJ thought Kwame was that nikka or Portland thought Oden was going to wreck the league :manny: I mean how many experts where saying at the time they made the wrong decision?

the greatest NBA what if ever. if they had drafted Melo/Wade/Bosh (most likely woulda been Melo) and had him coming off the bench... Pistons might have won 2-3 ships.

Tayshaun played D & his length (nh) frustrated the hell out of nikkas. I could see Melo coming off the bench, until he learned to play both sides of the ball.

Y would Carmelo come off the bench? Tayshaun ain't never been shyt.

Melo need Prince to get a gold model.

so he'd still be coming off the bench

Sorry to be off-topic but what the fukk did happen to Tayshaun Prince? I thought he would still be more of a factor in the league but since that Game 5 vs Lebron, that ol' talk of being "one of the better defenders in the NBA" just died.

In hindsight is the key here. People act like the Pistons were the only team that were considering Milicic in the first round or something. All the scouts had him highly rated.

And the Pistons won a title and took the Spurs to seven the next season in the Darko tenure, so let's not act like it really fukked the franchise up or anything.
