In 2025, five states will implement new pay transparency laws aimed at promoting salary equity:
• Illinois: 1/1/25.
• Massachusetts: Employers with 25+ employees must disclose salary ranges in job postings starting July 31, 2025.
• Minnesota: Effective January 1, 2025, job postings must include a starting salary range or fixed pay rate.
• New Jersey: From June 1, 2025, employers must include salary ranges and benefits descriptions in job postings.
• Vermont: Starting July 1, 2025, employers must disclose salary ranges for job postings

I like the policy. My state doesn't do it, but we all benefit when some states do it because we can compare.

I always used to look for the exact same position I'm applying for in Colorado because they make it mandatory for employers to post in that state. So when I was in the job hunt, id have a pretty good ballpark for my ask because my state's col is similar to Colorado.

On that list new jersey will be the example for the north east, Illinois will be an example for the rest of the Midwest and even the south (if you compare a non Chicago job)
