tannehill's deal is actually a great deal, especially for what the market is out there for QB's

Basically over the first 3 years of his contract he'll get 40 million dollars
after that(where the bulk of the money is) isn't guaranteed, and if he doesn't produce he's gone....with no money on the books.
In fact Miami is REALLY only on the hook for next season, after that they can cut him for minimal hit to the cap.

THe contract looks worse on paper than what it really is $96 million over 6 years.....but only like $45 million guaranteed.
Thats not that bad.

This is only going to encourage dan synder to pay Kirk Cousins even more :snoop:

At least the agent is gonna demand it. You can let a 2nd rate QB who doesn't win get paid more than a QB that statistically was arguably the best season a skins QB had in the history of the franchise and it's was his first full season running the system. I'm not saying that's my personal opinion, but it's gonna be tossed during negotiations. I'd rather toss the tag on him and sign Jay to a long term deal.

45 for 3 is still a garbage deal for Tannehill.

Before the season, with them really having faith in him taking the next step, it was a fair deal. For example, remember the deal Dalton got a year ago? It's peanuts for a player playing at top 3 in his position but at the time we were laughing at it.

Bradford isn't even going to get one of those Dalton/Kaep deals though. This was before the season. We know what he is now
