Not necessarily. The days of the bow wows and b2k's are over. These newer generations of young girls go straight to stanning older artists...Chris brown..drake etc. maybe kids are just faster and less innocent

When Soulja Boy and CB were actually boys, they had a clean image... Wayne had a gangsta image BUT couldn't even curse on his 1St album....

It's certainly interesting to compare Bow wow to Michael. Michael had a cute afro while Bow wow is in cornrows holding back pitbulls on a leash. It's true that boy bands prominence in the media has diminished but they have disappeared entirely for blacks. There isn't a black group competing with One Direction. This isn't just in music but also in Hollywood they've removed younger blacks from getting roles.

the black image (specifically the black male) PERIOD has been intentionally demonized. Worldwide the words "violent", "criminal", "ignorant", "uncivilized", "thug", "gangbanger"etc is subconsciously linked with the young black male. "MEDIA PROPAGANDA" is one of the most effective tools currently being used against the black race:
