I'm still shocked at how Bourne 4 could have been so lackluster (Why did Damon accept)?

shyt wasn't even as good as "Bourne Legacy". I strongly doubt Matt Damon is still doing flicks for the money, maybe I expected too much out of him. shyt, I've been pretending that Bourne Legacy didn't exist and Bourne 4 wasn't even as good as THAT :mindblown:

He only came back due to Greengrass directing. Just read that they're looking to do a 5th. Need to tie in the Aaron Cross story. No Greengrass = No Damon. They may have to go the James Bond route.

Bit like Jack Reacher series, there are over a dozen books, so they ain't short on stories.

They had no more story to tell and made another story to milk it, Of course it sucked

Maybe I'm holding Matt Damon to too high a standard, but I just don't understand why he signed on to it. I mean, did he not read the script? I doubt he did it for the money (obviously I could be wrong), what made him think it would be a good movie? :mindblown:

Its his series and they were ruining the legacy, perhaps he thought he could save it with his star power. And the movie wasn't that bad, The writing just sucked.

Movie wasn't as bad as legacy imo just the writing wasn't that good I'll say that

The 5th one they are looking into has potential cuz no tie in at all it's basically him saving America more or less since his story is complete and at the end they hinted at him basically being that agent taking on roles to help people

He signed on because I'm sure he wanted to work with Paul again, I'm sure Universal paid him handsomely, and he didn't know it would turn out the way it did. Most actors don't go into something thinking it will be bad. There are exceptions but for the most part, they think what they're doing is going to be great. But they can't speak for what gets left on the cutting room floor or just the fact that some things are great in theory but falter on execution. There's a good chance the script worked better in early stages and things changed while filming or changed in the editing bay

Edit: Jeff Bridges is in the news now saying how they didn't have a script on the first iron man movie and how he'd show up to work not knowing what the hell he would do or say before they started shooting. So in his case, he signed on for the cash and on the promise of what it could be assuming he'd have something in his hand before he started shooting. That didn't happen but clearly the movie turned out fine and thats a testament to the actors, the director and the editing.

Actors definitely sign on for terrible movies for the check.
Sam Jackson and Micheal Caine have talked about that themselves
