I'm sick of J.Cole.... Why is he so OVERRATED??

Man anybody else think this dude is so boring and overrated?

Man it's a sad day in hiphop when boring, mediocre rappers like J.Cole are considered one of the "greats" or a "conscious" rapper.... Tell me what about this nikka makes him so great or conscious? I mean of course this nikka will seem like the modern day Malcolm X when compared to 21 savage... but this nikka aint talkin bout shyt.... none of his songs sound good, and he raps like the average guy...I just dont get the hype with this guy.

I think the standard of what is considered great in hiphop is terribly low.

Why are nigggas like J.Cole considered "Conscious" rappers?

Boy is talented. He's not the best MC of all time but he makes alot of his own beats which arent bad and good tracks that i can listen to on a regular basis, my girl and my dad enjoy some of his music too. the warm up was a great mixtape and i still bump on a regular basis

Yes, he's overrated.


But a few things to consider...he's really overrated because he is endearing. His fans are still invested in him when the music cuts off which is a major key (Pac, Eminem, ect) that some of the greats didn't really take hold of. That is how you truly get longevity..not just "good music"...you gotta let people get to know you and connect with you on a deeper level than entertainment. He has been able to do that...with a bunch of herbs.

Also, as much as I don't fukk with him he's not a bad rapper by any means. Boring and derivative, sure. But I'm less concerned for Hip Hop with him at the helm as one of the higher selling artists than I would be with a lot of people, so there's that.
