I like online banks but having a relationship with your banker has certain benefits that online banks can’t provide. Things like crediting several overdraft fees a year, clearing checks same day (quasi-bridge loan), and accepting assigned checks.

Before this thread gets derailed, I'll say that they are pretty nice for the person that doesn't really have much of a need for actual branches or people they interact with in order to get their banking done. And the interest on their plain savings accounts is, or at least was, pretty competitive.

That said, for my own personal use, they might get bushed for AmEx here shortly.

I have so much business with boa, I never pay any fees. Including all ATM fees reimbursed. I have used atm's that charge like $5 just to take out $10 andI get it credited back immediately.
