Its looking like the initiative to legalize marijuana in Washington state, and Colorado will pass. In Colorado it legalizes possessing up to 1 oz. It also legalizes growing up to six plants :to:

The latest Washington Poll, conducted from October 18 through October 31, suggests that state's marijuana legalization initiative probably will pass on Tuesday: 55.4 percent of likely voters favored Initiative 502, while just 37.6 percent were against it. That level of support is consistent with other polls taken this month and last. Colorado's marijuana legalization initiative, Amendment 64, may also pass. A Public Policy Polling survey conducted from October 23 through October 25 put support among likely voters at 53 percent, with 43 percent against. What happens if voters approve these measures?

What are your thoughts on this? Any people from Colorado or Washington in here have anything to say about this? maybe a blunt for me when i arrive :win:

But, it's still illegal federally right? Does that mean that the state police just won't enforce the federal law?

Anyway, hopefully it encourages other states to do the same. Unfortunately I don't feel like the federal laws will change any time soon.

That sounds more like decriminalization to me.

theyre calling it legalization, with state sponsored pot shops and everything

pot smokers in Colorado will have an immediate state-legal source of marijuana. Amendment 64 legalizes not only possession of up to an ounce but also nonprofit transfers of that amount and home cultivation of up to six plants.

Im not from either one of those states so i could be wrong, either way it sounds like a step in the right direction.

that's always the tricky part, the feds will not back down off their position of it being illegal. and will still try to enforce federal law, leading to conflicts with state and government, but they dont have the manpower to stop average people from cultivating and smoking.

yeah, they'll have to figure it all out. but you can't cross that bridge until you get to it

I voted "No" on I-502 in WA because of concerns about the DUI limit of five nanograms. Some medical marijuana users were worried that they would simply never be under the legal limit, whether they were high or not, because of marijuana's lasting presence after consumption. I don't blaze any more, and I don't see it as too big of a deal.
