Been reading about Brian Wilson feeling competitively inspired by the Beatles, having a mental breakdown over pressure, then hitting back with the classic Beach Boys album, Pet Sounds, and it just has me hungry for a modern-day mainstream hip-hop artist having that fire light them up to create something classic.
Always wanted to see Drake be that mainstream guy in today's hip-hop world. Even after the ghostwriting stuff came up, I still wanted to see him collaborate with his writing camp to put out something legendary with Views or some other project.
Take Care is an amazing album. I suppose I can live with that being the best project he releases.
