New arena, New Era, New thread!

Well its finally here fellas, our own place to call home. No more 12:30pm start times. No more selfies covering the other team's banners, etc. I went to the preseason game against Sac and I'll be there tonight for the opening. I live in Inglewood so its no problem getting there. The building is sick tho! Exterior has basketball courts, art, a massive big screen, shops, etc. Inside is all state of the art. Its intimate and has a college type feel as the seat are literally right on top of the court. Hella steep in some sections which caught me off guard. The Wall is dope and has a Clipper supporter section. The giant halo ribbon scoreboard is 🔥 just like SoFi's. The negative I would say is the Intuit Dome App with facial recognition which each person has to download and use themselves which gets you inside and is for concessions and gift shops. Its too over reliant on the app and good luck to seniors who aren't tech savvy. But the building is amazing and long overdue! :wow: :mjcry:

No more PG, and as a Fresno State guy I wish him all the best unlike most Clipper fans. Kawhi is still on that street clothes sh*t, but was expected when he got sent home from Team USA. But 213 Era is finally behind us, thank god! One WCF appearance, but it was underachieving, not fun, excuse and injury filled, didn't move the Clipper brand forward, fizzled out every season, etc.

We've lost some star power but we got better defensively, more athletic, and with better depth. Its Harden's team now with a big opportunity for Zu, Mann, and KPJ. Norm will get the starting nod early but I see either KPJ or longshot, Jordan Miller, who could be the real deal, takes his place. High hopes for Kai Jones who turned heads in preseason. I see Derrick Jones Jr. balling out and defending. Can't believe Bones didn't add muscle or some weight in the offseason to help his game. His twins Maxey and Immanual Quickly did this and it helped them out tremendously, money wise included. That was his blueprint right there. Coffey is still in the mix, he's gotta get aggressive on offense this year tho. Mann too. Kobe Brown doesn't look to be it. Christie is a year away from contributing. Mo Bamba, no clue. I see him ending up behind Kai as the back up center. PJ Tucker, ship him out of here already! :hhh:

We're projected by most as a play in team, but I think we'll be a surprise and turn some heads this season battling for the 5-8 seed if Harden can stay healthy. Even higher if Kawhi could play, but I have no clue on that guy whatsoever. Just rollin' with what we got. It should be a lot of defense, fast breaks for easy buckets, alley opps, and hoping for a couple of breakout players.. lookin' at KPJ, Jordan Miller, and Kai Jones. Lets Go Y'all!! Lets Get It! Clipper basketball is back!

:blessed:

I thought this thread was actually about a crypto currency when I saw the thread title in my alerts. :dwillhuh:

Harden needs to put up 20 shots a game at least on top of the assisting, shooting percentages be damned. Zu has to become a bully in the paint too. Curious to see what Ty Lue has cooked up and what Jeff van Gundy can do for the defense.

The new stadium is horrendous in terms of turning basketball games into an excuse for data collecting on a massive scale to an unprecedented degree. Normalizing facial recognition software to gain entry to social places and sh*t.

I’m hoping KPJ and Bones can alleviate some of the playmaking and get some easy baskets to stop all the iso ball. DJJ and Kai should also help push the pace some also
Looks like the main ISO players are KPJ and Harden to an extent. Still wondering if KPJ has to serve some type of suspension. Kai is definitely on the must watch list

Don't like this either. But they do have an alternate way to get in without the app. I believe I saw a different line for those not doing facial recognition. It works, but that's not the way to go imo especially for everything in the arena. Maybe they scale it back soon.

Kawhi the best paid mascot in the league with no timetable to return.

Let's shoot for the play in. I think you can make an argument that this team is as good or better than those Rockets teams Harden would take to playoffs every year. Difference is Harden is older.
Sh*t must be real if you took a shot at Kawhi :lupe:

But I agree, this could be a Harden-Rocket team if 2-3 players step up or break out. Zu, KPJ, Mann(?), Jordan Miller are the ones I believe can do something. Norm will score. Kai Jones can make a dent even though he has a lot of development left to go. DDJ could make another jump. Either way the defense looks stellar and the team seems to be much more funner to watch from what I saw in the preseason. That old man ball with no athleticism was tough to watch on a nightly basis. Time for the youth! Lets Go!!

Am I the only one that has lost faith in Mann…he’s hit his ceiling :yeshrug:
He's like 27-28 years old. He is what he is at this point unless we're missing something and an extra gear might pop out with PG gone and Kawhi out as usual. We all though he would be a double digit guy from here on out when he had the 39 points to close out the Jazz in the playoffs three years ago, but I knew he was iffy when he disappeared on offense in the following series against the Suns in the WCF. Coffey the same. Too conserative on offense as I was hoping he would look for his shot more when Kawhi went out against Dallas in the playoffs last year. I'm more looking at Zu, KPJ, and/or Jordan Miller to make some noise. We'll see
