While I agree I think it’s also a factor of the newer digital age. Producers not being in the same room as the artist isn’t a completely new phenomenon. A lot of people are now on the same programs with the same sounds and searching YouTube tutorials basically learning to mimic their favorite producer. I think it was more singular self contained journeys in the past. Plus individuality was more pushed and rewarded. More people seemed to NOT want to sound like anyone else in previous years.
