Perhaps recognizing that he needs an especially big win in order to get a fight against Floyd Mayweather Jr. before he retires from the sport, Amir Khan (30-3, 19 KOs) told former three division world champion Adrien Broner (30-1, 22 KOs) that he’d pull out of his May 29th fight against Chris Algieri (20-1, 8 KOs) to fight him next if he agrees to the fight.
Khan is scheduled to face Algieri at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. It’s unclear though if Khan could actually pull out of the fight at this point in order to face Broner.
It’s more likely Khan just flapping his gums to hear himself talk rather than him being serious about wanting to take on the dangerous Broner.
“Let’s make this fight happen,” Khan said to Broner in video via esnewsreporting.com last Saturday night in the aftermath of the Floyd Mayweather Jr. vs. Manny Pacquiao fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. “I’m ready, I’ll fight you anytime. Listen bro, I will pull out of this next fight against Chris Algieri if you take the fight [with me]. Let’s do it. You’re not ready for me. You know you’re going to get it.”
Broner is scheduled to fight next June on the 20th in Cincinnati, Ohio, USA. He doesn’t have an opponent yet so Khan would be ideal for him to fight. It would put Broner in a good position to either get bigger fights or make the jump to pay-per-view. Broner is perhaps one or two big wins away from becoming a PPV attraction.
“He’s fighting Chris Algieri. Fight me, I’m waiting on you,” Broner said. “It ain’t about Floyd tonight, it’s about me and Amir Khan and me beating his [expletive]. I’ll stop him. [expletive] Pacquiao, I’m trying to stop Amir Khan.”
The Broner-Khan fight would take place at a catch-weight of 144 to 145 pounds rather than at the full weight for the welterweight division. Broner moved down in weight to the light welterweight division, so you can’t really expect him to fight a guy that’s heavier than him again. We saw what happened when Broner fought a much heavier Marcos Maidana in their fight in 2013.
Broner was knocked down twice, and went on to lose a 12 round decision in a fight that was mostly one-sided.
Khan really wants a fight against Mayweather before he retires, but things are starting to look mighty bleak for Khan at this point. Mayweather has one, perhaps two fights left in his career and Khan has already taken himself out of the hunt for Mayweather’s next fight in September by saying that he can’t fight then due to Ramadan.

:snoop: this dude Khan is a joke

:sas2: your move though Bandcamp

It's a ploy by Khan and it wont happen.

Khan knows DAMN well that AB is not gonna fight him on 23 day notice. That aint even time for a proper training camp, so saying "I'll pull out of the Algieri fight" when you could've just ORIGINALLY agreed to fight AB at 144-145 in the 1st place instead of negotiating with Algieri all along:camby:

His whole excuse was "Broner wants to fight me at a catchweight", yeah dumb ass, because Broner is at 140 and has fought more fights at 140 than you have at 147:ufdup:

Meet us at 144-145 like we said in April before you ran to fight Algieri:birdman:

makes sense if khan can break his contract

Broner is perhaps one or two big wins away from becoming a PPV attraction.

If he had proper time to train Broner should take this fight. But with so little time left he cant risk the chance of getting another loss while he is trying to build himself up. And if Khan would have really wanted the fight he would have did it at first instead of settling for Algieri.

Broner has never fought anyone in his division at a catchweight, so I dont know what "Bronerweight" is.

And if he fights Shawn Porter, it should be at 144 being that Broner is a 140lber fighting a 147lber.
