Example, there are people that love pokemon, COD, FIFA, 2k, etc. they pretty much have every new game on auto-pay.
If for example your favorite game turned into an annual franchise (thats not mentioned above) would you without a second thought buy it every year or would you eventually feel burnt out on it? Like, maybe those games being less frequent make them more of a event for you.
Another example, sega is talking about turning yakuza, sonic, and persona into annualized franchises (they kind of already are). I know there are people that will never miss a yakuza or persona game at this point also. As much as I loved Persona 5 i got burnt out playing 5 and Royal.
