Having lived in LA, I know that nobody in LA walks anywhere.
In NYC, everyone walks...a lot.

You can find things to do at Trip Advisor's website. My advice to you is to get comfortable shoes. And if you're coming now, it's a bit chillier than LA, so have sweaters and a light jacket.

Try to buy tickets to touristy things online. Saves you time waiting in lines.
And please, do not just stand in the middle of a sidewalk. NYCers are on the go and few things are as irritating as some jagaloon standing around, lost, holding up foot traffic.

There's the major tourist attractions. Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island, Empire State Building - elevator to the observation deck, Rockerfeller Center - NBC tour, Broadway - see a show, World Trade Center, all the major museums, Bronx Zoo, Botanical Gardens.
Wall Street is not a tourist spot, It's all offices, but you can go to the NYSE to see the trade floor from the tourist galley.

You'll have no problem with the night life here.
The people here are nice. There are jerks, but generally it depends on the environment you're in.
Drive bys? Um, not really. Maybe if you're gonna be in a ghetto in Queens or something
Mexican part of town? Not sure. But we have all ethnicities here. I don't see as many Mexicans here in NY. More Hondurans, Ecuadorians, Dominicans, Puerto Ricans and Colombians.

The thing you have to understand is that when it comes to Manhattan, most of the people there are not really FROM New York. People commute in for work or moved here. I don't think you have anything to fear...except, you've probably never experienced so many people in 1 place at 1 time.
Los Angeles is a spread out city.
I take it back. You HAVE experienced a huge crowd of people at 1 place at 1 time....any time you're driving on the 5.
Ugh. There's no such thing as rush hour in LA. It's rush-all-the-time.

First thing id do is drive around the entire manhattan thru the west side highway and then looping around to the fdr. Stop by the staten island ferry and take them to see the statue of liberty. After that go to times square and let them see all the crazy shyt thats down there, its a fast paced vibe down there so yea its pretty crazy if you never experienced that.

If you looking for clubs and bars stay away from times square and head down to 14th street and below on the west side. You can find spots with 20 cent wings, $2 shots and $1 beers during happy hour, at times square youll get charged like 8 to 10 bucks for a beer :stopitslime:

Check out harlem, go to 125th and check out the entire strip, the apollo espicially, avoid 125th and lexington if you have to...bunch of crazy dusty crackheads over there ..

if you into latin food/women..head up to washington heights/dyckman...go to casa de mofongo.,,the waitresses are :ohlawd:..thick as fukk!..and the food is top notch. main spot to hit up is la marina @ dyckman..nothing but gorgeous dominican/rican girls..area got THE best weed in the entire city. They dime bags of haze look like twentys..they got that reputation..

Visit downtown.bk if you want, check out the barclays center, court street, juniors...dont go to the hoods unless you got family/friends there.. avoid williamsburg you iust gonna run into the most annoying hipster cacs on earth...might end up going to central booking for the night for punching one in the face...unless you wanna check out the citys jail system, you can turn that into a fun experience :ehh:

Avoid staten island at all cost, and if you really want to get a feel on how the 80's nyc was, go to the south bronx..what a shythole (i got love for my bx nikkas tho :myman:)

Haven't been in the BX in a long time. Went over to Castle Hill a few years back for dinner at Brisas. They still got their stuff together out there?
