"Motion Smoothing," or whatever your TV manufacturer calls this setting, is the setting that makes the TV have the "soap opera effect" that makes the picture look unnaturally smooth. It does this by inserting frames in between the real frames of the video. Turn that setting off before trying this.
This may work with an AMD card and AMD software, but I don't have one to test it out.
1. Open Nvidia Control Panel
2. Click on 'Change Resolution' on the menu on the left
3. Click the 'Customize' button under the list of resolutions
4. Click on the box that says 'Enable Resolutions not Exposed by the Display'
5. Click 'Create Custom Resolution'
6. Change Horizontal Pixels to 1920
7. Change Vertical Lines to 1080
8. Change Refresh Rate to 120
9. Click Test, and if the test was successful, click OK. If the test was not successful, wait until your resolution is reverted back to the previous resolution.
10. Select the new custom resolution in the list of resolutions and apply it
