I believe the most important lifts for me are squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press, pull ups, and bent over rows. Those make up the core of my weekly work outs. I would assume the best lifts are the ones that recruit the most muscles. Compound lifts that get the most bang for your buck.

I'm a casual lifter, but it seems to be working for me. Everything else I do is just complimentary workouts IMO.
