Op you got to realize many people don’t really believe in God, they worship material things and say “I thank God when they succeed” cause that’s just the easiest thing to say.

Religion is mainly a concept, it’s like the guns don’t kill people, people kill people thing, it’s PEOPLE that get the world twisted up, WE are the ones that mess stuff up, saying religion does it EXCUSES peoples bad behavior and creates further division and confusion.

Used to always mess with my ol girl who would say stuff like Gawd made us win, all glory to gawd! I would be like so the people in xxxx city dont serve gawd too? Or he only root for our team?

There's tons of testimonies, gospel songs, bible verses and other stuff out there where people mention/give thanks to God when bad stuff happens to them.
I think the whole point is to invoke God in all parts of one's life; not just the good times

That's not something GOD did. That's the free will of man at work. It's intended to show you how messed up man is when he doesn't follow what GOD says to do. GOD's intention is for everyone to have what they need. But whatever choice people make will be judged.
