Then we aren't the first or last us.

Infinite randomness dictates that there will be repeats, so if the universe is infinite and random then the earth and all it's inhabitants have been here before in exactly the same way as we know it and in infinate similar variations. If thats the case, then this isn't the first time I've had this thought and expressed it on the coli, and it wouldn't be your first or last time reading it.

Well that's what I mean. If the universe is an accordion then that means this wasn't the first Big Bang and it won't be the last.

Only thing is that we don't know if the universe will eventually collapse or if it can just keep expanding forever. Have you heard of the theory that "big bangs" are created when the edge of two universes collide? I forget what the theory is called tho.

I don't know if this is the only Universe or not, but if there are an infinite number of universes your theory holds merit. If there are only a few, not so much.

I wonder how you can prove there are multiple universes, does anyone have more info on this?

lots of short stories honestly, you'd have to get like a "compilation type book" My favorite is the Library of Babel but he talks a lot about infinity etc.
