I'm not really talking in a literal sense, because the old Roc is not making music together anytime soon....but the QUALITY.

GOOD Music album gonna be :childplease:

We get hype off Self Made 1 & 2, and they ain't even that great.

Now let's talk:
1. Jay-Z-Intro [prod. Just Blaze]
4. Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel-Streets Is Talking [prod. Just Blaze]
5. Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel and Scarface-This Can't Be Life [prod. Kanye West]
7. Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel and DJ Clue-Stick 2 the Script [prod. Just Blaze]
8. Jay-Z, Amil, Beanie Sigel, Memphis Bleek-You, Me, Him & Her [prod. Bink!]
13. Jay-Z, Beanie Sigel and Memphis Bleek-The R.O.C. [prod. Just Blaze]
14. Jay-Z-Soon You'll Understand [prod. Just Blaze]
16. Jay-Z and Beanie Sigel-Where Have You Been? [prod. T.T.]

CLASSIC :whoo:

It was rumored that it was getting 5 mics in the source, ended up with 4.5.
It was very appreciated when it dropped, people were calling it a classic and all that.

How could you leave of Streets is talking though? Probably the best Bleek track of all time Holla and Give it 2 me? :wow:

If only this could happen in 2012

shyt that can go for any shyt that came out back then. Mediocre albums back then would be consider classics now compared to this trash thats out now.

It had VERY strong high points, and is a solid album, but probably my least listened to Jay album, next to 'Kingdom Come'. Too many of those Rick Rock beats, I am one of the few who hated 'I Just Wanna Love You', when it came out, just didn't fukk with it, it's cool

I'll never play that shyt on my own though. This album was the bridge for Kanye and Just production, they started with that sound on this album, but the other half or 3/4 of the production is garbage, mostly. 'Change the Game' was a big song, but I never liked it, too bouncy, too west coast, didn't care for it.

ROC, Change the Game Parking Lot Pimping, Get Your Mind Right, Guilty Until Innocent, 'You Me Him and Her', people like that beat, but I never liked it...Just Blaze still hadn't hit his stride yet, he did 'ROC', one of the worst beats on there. But, then you have Intro, Streets Is Talking, Holla, Stick to the Script, and Jay started baring his soul a little, precursor to 'The Blueprint', 'Where Have You Been', 'Soon You'll Understand', Intro'. An uneven, flawed album, with real highlights.

It was supposed to be a compilation album, but Jay pulled the old bait and switch, and released it as a solo. I think the compilation should have been done a year later, just after 'Blueprint', and 'The Reason', the artists were killing everything and Sigel and Bleek had really found their voices, and the production was top notch.

Roc La Familia stayed in rotation back then. Plus the cover was next level. I felt jays skills were still peaking around this time. I also liked vol 3 which was the same jay as this

It is/was a good album, but you're throwing that word around way too liberally.

Wouldn't matter whether it dropped now or then, the quality of the record would be the same.
