If Tangerines are more tastier than Oranges and are also seedless then why are Oranges more popular?

I'm beginning to think that the only reason why oranges are more popular is because of its name.

Marketing goes a long way and can make an inferior product seem superior simply because of "name brand" recognition

They're the Apple Products of Fruit, no pun intended. Tangerines are droid gang that get no respect.
