Soulja Boy keeps lying but when you repeat a lie over and over people start believing it. He wasn't the first rapper to blow from the internet, Afroman was. He wasn't the first rapper to blow of from torrents, Afroman was. Soulja was the first rapper to get a major deal off YouTube though.

He didn't kill anyone. He has affairs with men. He jacked the Drill sound in the early-2010s, then jacked the "Migos flow" in the mid-2010s, but pretends he's original. He scammed people with a fake video game console.

i kinda hate it because i was 12 or 13 when "because i got high" came out. i never viewed afroman as a KRS or Prodigy, but he made his own way and put his foot in the door of rap. he was a legit rap hustler and a lot of his early records are enjoyable from a working class background ("graveyard shift" "bacc 2 school" "palmdale" "mississippi") - old afroman was pretty dope, despite the bad production and cheap instruments. his music worked because it was an honest expression of who he was at the time. i think he got fat on that 'because i got high' money because by 2004 he was releasing novelty christmas albums, a sure sign of a failed artist.

i will say, if you've never seen an afroman show, you missed out. guy knows how to work a crowd, and his 'true' fans love him to death. he was absolutely worth the $9 dollars year back!
