If OKC kept their Big Three (KD-Westbrook-Harden), do they win a ring in the 2010s / 2020s?

Personally, I think they would’ve been the competition GS never really had out West. I could see them getting either one ring in 2017 and 2018 or two rings in both years. With Steph ending up with only two championships rather than the four he won. OKC played themselves not keeping Harden.

But if it was me, I would’ve convinced Portland circa 2013 to trade Dame to OKC for Westbrook :youngsabo:

They had 4 all star, all nba, or all defensive guys 23 or younger who got better as a team every year who liked each other. They’d gone from 50 wins with their guys at 20-21 years old to 55 wins and the conference finals at 21-22 years old, to the finals with 4 straight super close games at 22-23 years old. Not even with hindsight, they had an all NBA 1st team 4 time scoring champ who was runner up to the mvp, an all nba 2nd team point guard whose athleticism made him a matchup nightmare, the 6th man of the year who could score crazy efficient at every level, could get to the line effortlessly, and who they trusted to slow things down and run the offense when they needed to grind it out. There’s no universe where that core doesn’t win multiple titles if they stick together. We’d never seen a core that young get that good in that short a timespan.

5 million dollars for James Harden :francis: I didn’t even start to forgive Presti until the PG trade and finally getting off the Sabo treadmill. Thank goodness for Kawhi :blessed: if Shai gets it done Klaw gotta get a statue

If not for that, Har_en probably has to develop his game better to fit with Russ & KD too so he doesn’t play such a hideous brand of basketball that doesn’t lead to postseason results.

I wouldn’t have been surprised if he ended up the starting PG. He was already the closing PG when all 3 were there

yes.
and that 2016 team probably wins too.
ppl forget they signed victor oladipo before KD bailed. GS Eliminated their biggest compeition in the west with that move
At the time that transaction wasn’t theat impressive or moving the needle for OKC. They traded Ibaka for Oladipo. Who was considered underwhelming for a top lottery pick. He was basically a bust for Orlando.
