If NXT moves to FS1 and runs against AEW's TNT show, who is winning?

Who winning?

The word is WWE will be running NXT on FS1 head to head with AEW’s weekly show according to MeltzGOAT.

Who do you think will come out on top? WWE can obviously promote the show heavily on Raw and Smackdown, but the current NXT show is pretty dry. And trying to make it more appealing is only going to move it further away from developmental, but maybe it’s time for NXT to stop pretending it is developmental, and just admit that it’s a third brand that’s catered for the neckbeards.

Problem is I think that neckbeard audience will lean to AEW, despite none of AEW’s shows coming close in quality to basically any Takeover. AEW is the shiny new toy, and not to mention they're on TNT which is a big advantage, so I definitely think HHH is going to take an L, which will be fascinating to see how Cokeboy reacts to that. Although WWE probably don't even expect to win, it's more of just adding an extra hurdle in AEW's way.

Its early still, but man, shyt ain't even close, Takeovers kill any AEW show.

Will have to wait and see how they handle NXT on regular TV. It usually has very little commercial interruption. That could hurt it if it stays an hour show.

Weekly programming I would guess AEW. NXT is really top heavy. If AEW does it right, they should have pentagon and fenix, SCU, Omega, Bucks, maybe LAX, Cody, Jericho, Moxley, all in decent programs. Good matches and guys who (at that level and for those fans) mean something.

NXT seems to have fantastic matches but it seems to revolve around the same few people. Match quality is insane, that’s why you can watch a takeover without ever watching NXT and still enjoy it, but NXT weekly can sometimes be very forgettable

Takeovers are even better than the wwe ppv most of the time.

I guess it depends on how the weekly shows are booked. Big difference between a two hour tv show and a two hour ppv since they put more effort into the ppv. I'm all for a head to head giving us great wrestling on both sides.

NXT TV is much different than Takeovers though.

Exactly. Weekly NXT is full of squashes and green wrestlers with maybe a good to great match if you’re lucky.

Sure the Takeover shows are awesome but they’re only 5 shows a year.

Now if they put on mini-Takeovers every week they might have a shot but if they keep the same format where we have to watch Kona Reeves wrestle then it’s a no from me, dog.

I'll watch AEW live. NXT will get the DVR slot.

Also the main roster's track record with bringing up NXT talent contributes to this decision.

Like some people have already said, a weekly AEW show would more than likely be on par with the average weekly NXT show. Are there people that think every Wednesday is a Takeover special :mjlol:??? Most often it’s a good match, some cool backstage segments and/or vignettes, and probably two squashes with normally somebody new or rising that’s squashing Kona Reeves or Rhea Ripley’s boyfriend.

AEW will win in the beginning because it's new and NXT is nowhere near the NXT it was during its prime (for the record, haven't watched NXT in forever so maybe it's good again), but if AEW continues to be an indy smark fest, casual fans will go to NXT regardless.
