People always side with The Lox against Diddy, but never side with State Property against Jay-Z.

Which group members had it worse? Diddy always brought the Lox on tour, soundtrack placements, and gave them business. Jay-Z didn't even leave them scraps. Freeway stayed loyal but even he only got one mixtape under Roc Nation the entire 2010s and nothing more.

The Lox spent almost decade battling Puff over bad deals, publishing percentages, etc.

Ever heard anyone from the Roc say Jay gave them a bad deal or stole money? Nope. All they can really say is “He left” which is neither illegal nor predatory.

It's a leverage issue as well. The Lox used PR to make Diddy yield, but Jay-Z is always aloof and never had the public scrutiny that Diddy had.

Freeway nearly died and lost his daughter and son in a span of like 3 years or so. He should have been championed as a hero, and made into one of the faces of Roc Nation. Freeway already into doing community programs and events in Philly, so he's prob down to do it on a bigger level. It's a shame that nobody from Roc Nation actually did something with Free, and we already know he can rap.

Yeah but rap pretty much been dead especially for older nikkas.

What they could have done is take advantage of the overseas touring market. There's always interest in Europe, Japan etc. There's still money to be made out there even today

Cause the situation ain’t the same. Jay literally walked them into hot 97 on his back and made people listen to them, during his peak in 01-02 during war time.

He took a beans on your soon as he meet him during his biggest selling album “hard knock life”

they wasn’t in any bad deals, they was features on his albums, and he featured on all there’s also.

The ones who wanted to leave left and others when he felt it was time to move on he released them also, instead of holding they contract or pub

He was priming peedi crack to be a huge artist post roc break up, but peedi admitted he was focus and every time Jay would come to hear music he would’ve have any. He would tell Jay he needed more money and Jay would cut him another 300k budget and he would blow it again.

After that Jay cut the whole group off and figured it was damaged goods and was right.

They all was free and no contracts and none of album to make any moves post roc. Outside of free move or them built they own fanbase

As an avid Jay hater, I never understood the state property shyt. He did more than enough for them. BUT, let’s not rewrite history when it come to Sigel. Jay benefited from Beans just as much as Beans benefited from Jay around that time. Beans brought a level of street legitimacy to the ROC that was painfully missing while X was blazing shyt.

Jay Z wanted the Philly swag, State Property and the Yung Gunz gave him a style that helped him get bigger.

This is why they all feel like Jay abandoned them. I don’t think Jay owes them outside of contractual obligations but once you help nikkas who lack the emotional maturity to sustain themselves they will resent you for it later.

You got Peedi Crakk begging Jay to buy him a car…you got Beans basically asking him to be his legal guardian.

It gets clearer and clearer with time why he had to get away from these dudes.
Right.

You think it's okay to steal the whole way you rap though? You're going to say some shyt like this and be quiet as a mouse about the Young Chris flow?
