That played into his character though. Heenan was always anti-Hogan ever since his WWF days so it made sense he'd question him. Plus, aint nobody watching that live at the time believe Hogan would turn heel.

I also think that at the time Heenan refused to read scripts beforehand so he could keep his commentary spontaneous. You can tell because Dusty immediately replied with "WHAT ARE YOU TALKIN' ABOUT" because he was on the booking team and knew what was gonna happen

yeah, Heenan (like me) had been saying Hogan was a heel in sheeps clothing for YEARS... he was almost giving voice to everything I hated about the dude: wrestling once every 3 months, not hesitating to break the rules, constant title shots, hulking up, having a huge ego....

that night Heenan was merely saying "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!"
