If I didn't know any better I'd say the Republicans want the economy to get worse

its like when unemployment goes up they're actually happy and celebrating and eager to blame Obama but when unemployment goes down something isn't right, there's some conspiracy theories floated but really they're generally unhappy things are getting better.

its sort of like how their leaders all met in that room and decided on Obama's inauguration day in the face of one of the worse economic crisis this country has seen in a long time to put politics before the country and do everything they could to undermined Obama's presidency instead of putting the country first and they've been passive aggressively sitting on their hands and log jamming the government ever since.

the dems are no angels but the republicans straight up don't give a fukk about anybody but themselves and they wanna sit around and put on this facade of caring about everybody. either everything goes in their favor or there's a conspiracy. when unemployment was higher i never really heard dems saying the numbers were fudged.

I would say that's fairly obvious at this point.

They feel that the worse the economy is, the better the chances are of Obama not getting a second term. So congressional Republicans have spend the past few years being as obstructive as possible and doing everything they can slow the recovery and prevent Congress from doing anything. Unfortunately the Dems are too cowardly to call them out on it.

I just said this in another thread, but the "economy being bad" is only bad for the average American. It's not bad for the big time Repubs, the CEO's, the people making big money. They're gonna be alright either way.

But guess what, a bad economy means a company can snag a young person with a college degree(smart, well qualified, great ideas, etc) with heavy loan debt, and put them in a job that does not require a college degree and pay them peanuts, b/c that person has few choices. You get higher quality work done for little pay which only helps the company more. I think the corporations love the recession....AND on top of that, they can let ppl go now for literally no reason and just blame it on "downsizing"

Just one way to look at it.

i want somebody to get on the national news and call this stuff out. even on cable news outlets like MSNBC nobody has called this what it really is. they all dance around it and flirt with it but they won't come out and say it outright.

the whole republican attitude is in a nutshell instead of making things better for you directly make things better for us and we'll in turn make them better for you.

its part of the team behavior...both sides are going to always suffer from it unfortunately

When you create the party system it stops people from really parsing all issues independently and looking at all qualities of a candidate and even things objectionably

instead its a lazy exercise in being a part of the right team and defending them full fledged regardless if it is consistent with your principles

the same happened under Bush when there was good numbers during his first term partisans on the other side did their best to find excuses and fault or say it was weak growth

so please stop the charade that its only republicans when it really speaks to a human nature issue when you start dealing with parties that have allegiences

George Washington was right when he said the party system would be an issue

unemployment being down is good news for the country period. it should be celebrated no matter who is in office.

this is like a sibling telling you they're having a baby they want to have and instead of you being happy for them you're talking about somebody must have poked a hole in the condom.

The best thing that could happen to bolster Mitt Romney's chances of winning the Presidency is for something cataclysmic to happen to the world economy and I am pretty sure more Repubs than not are privately praying to their Lord and Savior Jesus H. Christ to make it happen.

you could very easily argue repubs want the economy to fail to fukk obama.

this is why the government sucks. the congress/president has failed us so poorly the federal reserve has to keep stepping in to do their jobs for them.

But it was flipped during the Bush years...the Dems seemed to rooting for Iraq/Afghanistan to go up in flames because it hurt Bush/Repubs and helped Dems in elections.
Politicians for the most part are awful, selfish b*stards.

I want Obama to fail. I've said the multiple times.

I am suspect of any of his "achievements". I trust him like I would a door-to-door salesmen.

If he succeeds in anything, that means, Communism, anti-freedom and all of his fecal matter of an ideology is right.

It's not about race. I don't want him to be right about anything because of what he represents. I'm not the only one, so of course his controversial ideology is going to be met with strong critiques.

I personally don't even like the guy. I wouldn't shake his hand or even look into his eyes if I met him. He's a bytch-ass faq liar and doesn't deserve my respect

Of course! They want this shyt as fukked up as possible bc they want back in the white house. This shyt should be considered treason :pacspit:

Last time they came in with a surplus and left with a deficit, the biggest attack on the homeland occurred, went into 2 unnecessary wars, and the biggest recession occurred since the great depression.

People really forget how fukked up we were in 2008. It's amazing to see what Obama's soft ass has done despite all this resistance from the republicans.

how about when democrats wanted the iraq war to fail or claimed the war was lost? that wasn't motivated by politics as opposed to objectivity?

Whenever Bush had good gdp and good job numbers the arguments by the opposition were that they were shytty jobs at mcdonalds.

Look in the mirror before you criticize

of course there are republicans temporarily rooting against the economy so they can regain power and take a short term loss for what they feel would be a better direction...its human nature and it sucks to root against your own interests so that your "team" can take the lead and win it goes both ways

the Iraq war accomplished what? its failure meant we could get the fukk outta there and honestly we never should have gone in there in the first place.

you're honestly trying to compare that war to the state of our country's economy and our citizen's ability to get employment?
