This doesn't pan-out as it assumes an advanced civilization is curious enough and has resources to accomplish exploration. Since space is so big, those resources would be rapidly depleted on fruitless searches and failed missions.

Scientific research also suffers from the same issue as the vast majority is a wasted effort. They may not even regard 'science' the same as we do.

You're 'humanizing' beings that are not human at all, but this is all PURE speculation.

But your assumption that they consume resources for said space exploration does? This assumes that they're burning some kind of fuel to propel their ships when we could be talking about space bugs who get energy from eating rocks or absorbing star radiation. There are an unknown number of 'resources' out there.

Secondly, "wasted effort" is merely your perception of research and exploration. Chances are, an alien race with the ability to find and travel to Earth have amassed a knowledge and understanding of the universe so great no human could comprehend it. They would be far and away beyond us. Hence, why we would be insects in comparison.

We can't even get past, "Why women don't deserve anything."

I assumed they have to use some type of resources for travel. Even in your criticism you had to assume the same.

'Wasted effort' is actually a fact due to the size of the Universe. Consider how long it took for civilizations just a few thousand miles from one another on this planet to come into contact. Our galaxy is about 100,000 light years across and contains about 400 billion stars. The math ain't mathing, but I'm not a member of an 'advanced alien civilization'.

Nah. The only reason a civilization capable of coming here would do so would be to kill us, not mate with us.

I disagree with you here.

There would be no motivation to actually come here to wipe us out for the following:

1.) There is no resource on earth that couldn't be found in other planets. Including water.
2.) Aliens that advanced would have no use foe us other than to may be observe how an inferior being lives. No different than how we observe animals on our planet.

That's not to say that they would be as empathetic to human life as we are (see animals), but there would be no reason for them to systematically wipe us out.

The "motivation" could be to stop our civilization from competing with theirs for resources.

Edited: Changed 'would' to 'could' as this is all speculation.
