Marlon Wayans was cast as Robin for Batman returns. . But there were too many characters so Robin was taken out of the movie, but he'd be back for the third Burton film. Of course Burton didn't come back and Schumacher re-cast the role. But Marlon still got paid and still gets residuals because he signed a pay or play deal for multiple films
